PROVINCETOWN THEATER FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS 2009

Brian O’Malley, M.D. (Chairman) was formerly President of the Provincetown Repertory Theater, and as co-President of the Provincetown Theater Foundation, responsible for the Provincetown Theater construction project. He is a practicing primary care internist at Provincetown Medical Group; an original and present Trustee of Cape Cod Healthcare, Medical Director of the Seashore Point / Cape End Manor nursing home; member of the Cape and Islands Lyme Disease Task Force; and the originator of the Cape Care Universal Health Care proposal now under development.

Tim McCarthy (President), Tim McCarthy has traveled the world with his video camera in search of Lesbian, Gay, Bi and Transgender (GLBT) Culture. Tim does this as a medicine for himself and as a gift for his sisters and brothers 100 years from now. He has recorded thousands of hours of GLBT events and people around the world. His travels have included being with Congressman Barney Frank in Russia in 1994, going to Africa in search of HIV’s homeland in 1999 and planting the Gay Flag in Antarctica. Tim is also the first reporter credentialed by the White House for Gay Television, a position he held with Gay Cable Network from 1993 thru 1999. Tim also published LIP Magazine and www.LIPTV.us, video of Life In Provincetown. Tim’s latest endeavor is www.LIPStreams.com; a partnership with one of PBS’s premiere producers, John Scagliotti, to create GLBT and progressive content for Internet TV.

Being involved with the theater is a very healing experience for him. As a boy he learned to go with the people that made him do better. And the theater community makes everyone do better.

Joy McNulty (Vice President), Joy McNulty, has 30 years experience in business, building her restaurant into one of the largest employers in town. Her involvement in community management and ties to the community are extensive and generous. Along with her business expertise she brings to the table an extensive knowledge of theatre.

Luceil Carroll supports many artistic and charitable organizations in New York and Cape Cod such as the New York Festival of Song, Primary Stages and Food for Thought. She is on the board of the Lighthouse Chamber Players, who perform in Wellfleet in the summer. She was an editor of the Civil Liberties Review of the ACLU Foundation, one of the founders of the Bede School, the first Montessori school in New Jersey; and the Executive Director of the nonprofit Educational Fund for Individual Rights. Luceil is active on the NPP fundraising committee and helps organize benefits for the theatre.

Robert Seaver is a retired vice president of the College Entrance Examination Board, in charge of external communications and publishing. He was a director and past Chair of the Provincetown Theatre Company and a founding member of the board of the Provincetown Theater Foundation. Member of a family who’ve been Provincetown summerfolk since 1875 and himself a homeowner here since 1959, he’s been a year-rounder since 1995. He’s also a member of the Beachcombers, a volunteer for the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod, an amateur conjuror, and loves to mess around in boats.

Judith Partelow has worked professionally in theater, film and television for over thirty years. She is a member of the Actors’ Equity Association, Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. She directs plays, coaches actors, and has produced children’s theater. She is Chair of the Fundraising Committee for the NPP Board. She also works in the Philanthropy Department of Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod.

Sewall Whittemore served on the Board of The Provincetown Theatre Company beginning in 2000, and continues to serve on the Board of the New Provincetown Players. Sewall has performed and stage managed numerous PTC productions and has been an active member both in front of and behind the scenes. Sewall is a member of the Chamber Singers of the Outer Cape Chorale and is a board member of the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House in Provincetown.

Karen Billard brings her love of theater and her background in non-profit and for-profit business administration, marketing and web site and graphic design to the board. She is a costume designer, with a degree in Patternmaking from Fashion Institute of Technology and experience in the New York fashion industry. She also designs beaded jewelry, tassels and hand-woven trim. She lives in Falmouth with her husband and daughter year round. She hopes to share her enthusiasm for the quality of the productions offered at the Provincetown Theater with her local community, bringing a new audience to support this Cape treasure.
